Gibson aggravates knee

Darron Gibsonhas aggravated a knee injury in the warm-up to today’s pre-season friendly win over RealBetis. Roberto Martinezconfirmed that Gibson was replaced with a minute to go before half time dueto an injury problem which started during the warm up to the game, and admitted that he is not sure when he will be fit again until the injury has been properly assessed. “Darron is the only negative,” said the Evertonboss after the game. “We’ve been quite fortunate during pre-season not to pick up any knocks but today in the warm-up he opened his knee slightly. “He’s got a grade one ligament problem but we’ll have to assess it and over the next 48 hours we’ll have a clear idea of where he is.”
